demo time...............

It was March 2, 2010 when I went to DESES very early in the morning because that day was the general demonstration of the interns. The demo started at already 8 am and finished at 11 am. The intern that we observed first was Ms. Jinky Orgeta who taught Math in grade 2 with the topic of finding the area. She spent almost 1 hour in demonstrating the whole lesson plan. Prof. Rodante Avila was the professor who assigned to observe her. She got excellent in that demo with the average of 98%. For me she deserved that rating because she used appropriate teaching aids that was very suited to her topic. After that we observed Ms. Aiza Manila who taught Filipino in grade 3 with the topic "Pangngalan" together with the same prof. She got 91% for her demo...
At 11am all the interns were finished in their general demonstration....

It was January 16, 2010, Tuesday when I went again in DESES to observe and take some pictures for a remembrance. I went there from 7 - 11am. When I was there, Mrs. Mascardo taught 2 subjects and 2 subjects were taught by the intern Mr. Daniel Montoya. While they are discussing I captured many pictures on how they were taught and how the pupils responded. I enjoyed capturing a photo because I knew that time they are also enjoying. When the break time came, I together with my cooperating teacher, Sir Montoya and the pupils took time for the picture taking with different poises. I captured many photos and I am so happy doing that things. I felt that time that I will miss them so much because that was my last observation in that classroom...

high tide,.low tide

This day February 5, 2010, Friday I woke up at almost 6am that supposed to be had a physical fitness but because we have an observation in different assigned cooperating school, all the sophomore students will not require to attend with the permission of the prof.
At exactly 7am I went in DESES for my observation. When I came there the flag ceremony was just started for me to observed and watched what were the format of their ceremony in the morning. According to the pupils, they are conducting flag ceremony everyday. I together with other observer enjoy watching the pupils in their everyday exercises which was like a mass dance with some pupils lead in front.

After the flag ceremony I proceeded to the classroom that I assigned to observe. When I came to the classroom I observed that the intern which was Mr. Daniel Montoya was not there because I know that all interns must in the university every Friday for aerobics in the morning and institutional in the afternoon. After few minutes Mrs. Mascardo was started to teach IKAWP subject. In this subject she told some stories about history of good traditional way of living in the ancient era. They enumerate some culture and traditions of the Filipinos. After 40 minutes, Mrs. Mascardo was taught the next subject in the same grade IV pupils section 3 which is the English. In this subject she taught about the one of the parts of the speech which is the preposition. After that she gave an exercises how to apply different prepositions in the sentences. After 45 min. the next subject followed which was Science and in this subject she conducted an activity about "Tide", the high tide and low tide. It was a group activity and they answered the given questions. in illustration board. It explained by the leader. It was 11:45am when the class dismissed and the pupils went home for their lunch break.

It was Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2010 when I started to observed in DESES where I assigned. My cooperating teacher is still Mrs. Florida V. Mascardo handling grade IV pupils. I came in her classroom exactly 1:30 in yhe afternoon and the discussion was already started. The teaher of that time was Mr. Daniel Montoya, the assigned intern teacher in that classroom. The subject scheduled that time was Science and he tackled about the Earth and its System such as number of the moon, position of the earth in the universe , how it revolve and rotate to the sun, the duration or the complete days that the earth completed the whole revolution to the sun. Also Mr. Montoya tackled the four phases of the moon and those are full moon, new moon, crescent and gibous moon. Mr. Montoa conducted a group activity for the pupils after discussions. I observed that, he discussed the lessons well for the pupils to all got the correct answer in the group activities. I also observed that even he was just still an intern teacher, he has a strategy how to give the lessons and understand well by his pupils. And I think, Mrs. Mascardo, our cooperating teacher satisfied what Mr. Montoya did in the class.
After 1 hour, Mrs. Mascardo taught another subject which was Math and she discussed about how to get the volume of an object or figure. After 10 minutes discussing the topic she gave an 5 items test to her pupils. She gave 10 minutes to answer the items and after that they checked it immediately. After checked it they got the result and sadly the pupils just got 61%. Because of the result, Mrs. Mascardo repeated the topic and after that she gave some exercises for the pupils to be familiar on the topic. Whie they answering the exercises, ther were teachers who invited us in to the other classroom an according to them there was a birthday celebration of one of the pupils. I refuse to joined with them and I told them that I was just stay and I will just takecare the pupils for them to avoid accidents and some noise. Mr. Montoya joined to them. While Mrs. Mascardo and Mr. Montoya were out I decided to give some exercises to the pupils related with their topic which was the finding the volume. After a while they came back to the classroom and they brought me a foods and we ate together because they just also takeout their foods.
It was already 4:30 pm and it was the time for the cleaners to clean the room before they can go home. I and Mr. Montoya helped them to cleaned the entire classroom. After 10 mins. we finished cleaning and we said goodbye to each other.

january 26,2010

Last Tuesday,I together with my groupmates in FS2 and FS3 who assigned in Don Emilio Salumbides Elementary School (DESES) decided to went there after our class in the university to informed the principal and our cooperating teacher that we will going to start to observe again. Unfortunately, the principal was not there that time but her assistant told us that we can talk to our cooperating teacher. So,as she said as well our leader said we can talk to our cooperating teacher first even the principal was not yet informed. It was already 10:45 am and as I had noticed my cooperating teacher named Mrs. Florida Mascardo was very busy discussing something to their pupils that's why I refused to come inside the classroom. It almost 10 minutes before 11:00 o'clock and what I had noticed before their class will dismiss at exactly 11:00 o'clock for me to decided that I just wait the class to end bacause I really don't want to interrupt the class.
Atlast, the 11:00 o'clock came and I heard that Mrs.Mascardo dismissed the class. When her pupils saw me they all greeted me and some hug me because as they said they missed me and honesty I missed them also. When all the pupils getting out the classroom. I greeted Mrs. Mascardo with smile and she smiled at me also as if she also missed me. While we are talking about my free time or my schedule of observing I have noticed that she has an intern teacher sitted on chair in the other corner of the classroom. Mrs. Mascardo asked me if I know her intern and I said "yes ma'am" and that intern was Mr. Daniel Montoya. I smiled him when he smiled at me. After 10 minutes of conversation between me and Mrs. Mascardo I told to her that I will go ahead and I will just come if I have a free time to observe. I also sid goodbye to Mr.Montoya.
Outside the classroom while we are waiting for our other groupmates we had a conversation to one of the intern teachers there and from him we knew that their local demonstration will be on February 2, 2010 and the general demonstration will be on February 22, 2010.
